The announced dates are 1–11 September 2027, and La Biennale has officially confirmed Alberto Barbera as Artistic Director for 2027 and 2028. The 84th Venice International Film Festival
The Festival is La Biennale’s international cinema event, bringing premieres, competitions, parallel sections, meetings and red carpets to the Lido. We will not carry 2026 films or schedules forward as 2027 facts.
Alberto Barbera confirmed
La Biennale has officially confirmed Alberto Barbera as Artistic Director of its Cinema Department for 2027 and 2028.
Where it takes place
The Festival is centred on the Venice Lido, around Palazzo del Cinema and nearby venues. The 2027 venue map will be added when published.

Getting to the Lido
Reach the Lido by vaporetto from Venice. From Marghera, travel into Venice by bus or train and continue by water to Lido S.M.E.; re-check services close to the Festival.
Where to stay if you drive
Marghera lets you leave your car at the apartment’s free private parking and use public transport into Venice, avoiding the need to park near the historic centre during a busy Festival period.
