Venice Hospitality Challenge 2026: Maxi Yachts in St Mark’s Basin
On 17 October 2026 the Gran Premio Città di Venezia returns, bringing Maxi Yachts and Venetian luxury hospitality together.
Large sails, St Mark’s Basin and Venetian hospitality: Venice Hospitality Challenge is built around an unusual link between yacht racing and high-end hotels. Created in 2014, it has become one of the most recognisable events of Venice’s autumn calendar.
A Grand Prix inside the city
Yacht Club Venezia presents the event as the Gran Premio Città di Venezia and highlights the unusual nature of a city circuit reserved for Maxi Yachts. The scale of the boats against the monumental waterfront is exactly what makes it so striking.
Sport meets hospitality
Each yacht is connected with the world of Venetian hospitality, creating a competition that also tells a story about the city as a destination for travel and lifestyle. Sailing, however, remains the central element of the day.
Where to watch
St Mark’s Basin is the natural reference point for spectators. Course, weather and safety measures can affect visibility from individual waterfronts, so check the official 2026 information shortly before the race rather than relying on the previous year’s timetable.
Practical information
The 13th Venice Hospitality Challenge is scheduled for Saturday 17 October 2026. The official page currently confirms the date; detailed race times, participating fleet and operational programme should be checked when the organiser releases the 2026 update.
Marghera Venice Apartments tip
This is ideal to experience while walking. Travel into Venice without the car, choose a waterfront with a broad view of the basin and leave some flexibility in your plans: sailing always depends on conditions.
Official information
Programmes, times, availability and conditions may change. Always check variable information with the official source before your visit.
